CCM President congratulates France on its destruction of stockpiles

In its capacity as the President of the Convention on Cluster Munitions, the Netherlands would like to congratulate France on its destruction of all of France’s cluster munitions stockpiles as announced on 30 June 2016. This is an important contribution to the implementation of the Convention and the Netherlands would like to call upon other States Parties with outstanding obligations on the destruction of their stockpiles to follow this example.

The Dubrovnik Action Plan Booklet

The Dubrovnik Action Plan lists concrete steps to implement the Convention on Cluster Munitions in the period from 2015 to 2020.

It is designed to gather momentum, guide and assist States Parties and other actors in the practical implementation of the Convention. It was adopted unanimously by States Parties, at the First Review Conference of the Convention, in September 2015 in Dubrovnik (Croatia).

…and Palau is number 100!

On 19 April 2016, Palau ratified the Convention on Cluster Munitions, becoming the 100th State Party to the Convention. The Instrument of Ratification was submitted to the United Nations Secretary General in New York. Palau was a signatory of the Convention on Cluster Munitions since 2008.

Cuba is the 99th State Party

On 6 April 2016, Cuba acceded to the Convention on Cluster Munitions and became the 99th State Party to the Convention. The Instrument of Ratification was submitted to the United Nations Secretary General in New York.

Germany contributes to the CCM ISU’s 2016 operations

H.E Michael Biontino, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of the Federal Republic of Germany to the Conference on Disarmament with the CCM ISU Director after signing an Agreement for funding the work of the ISU for 2016. Germany contributed CHF 61,555.96 to the CCM ISU Trust Fund.
