Eighth Meeting of States Parties

Presided by Nicaragua, the Eighth Meeting of States Parties to the Convention on Cluster Munitions is the third formal meeting of the Convention after the adoption of the Dubrovnik Action Plan, a five-year (2015-2020) action plan that provides a roadmap for States Parties to implement and universalize the Convention.
Mr. Carlos Morales Dávila, Chargé d’Affaires a.i. and Deputy Permanent Representative of the Republic of Nicaragua who presided over the 8MSP, handed over the Presidency of the Convention on Cluster Munitions to H.E. Mr. Aliyar Lebbe Abdul Azeez Ambassador and Permanent Representative of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka to the United Nations Office and other international organizations in Geneva as the President of the Ninth Meeting of States Parties (9MSP).

The Meeting designated H.E. Ms. Sabrina Dallafior Matter, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Switzerland to the Conference on Disarmament as the President of the Second Review Conference scheduled for 2020.
