November 2021

Concept Note by Germany and Montenegro, CCM Coordinators on International Cooperation and Assistance, on advancing the implementation of Article 6, guided by Actions 38-42 of the Lausanne Action Plan, up to the 10th Meeting of States Parties (10MSP) to be held in Geneva in August/September 2022.


October 2021

The brochure on International Cooperation and Assistance has been updated. The brochure provides information on Article 6 of the Convention, Actions 38-42 of the Lausanne Action Plan, how States Parties could request assistance, and also on the existing mechanisms and resources States Parties have access to in order to implement their obligations under the CCM.

January 2020

Concept Note by the Netherlands and Montenegro, CCM Coordinators on International Cooperation and Assistance, on enhancing the implementation of Action 5 of the Dubrovnik Action Plan up to the Second Review Conference(2RC) to be held in November 2020.


November 2019

September 2019

At the request of Lao PDR, Coordinators on International Cooperation and Assistance, the Netherlands and Peru organized a closed meeting on the establishment of a country coalition partnership for Lao PDR. The meeting took place on 3 September 2019 in the margins on the 9MSP and attendees included donors, operators and States that were familiar with the country coalition concept or the APMBC’s individualized approach.

June 2018

On Friday 8 June 2018, Australia and Peru, CCM Coordinators on International Cooperation and Assistance, hosted an informal meeting in the margins of the 2018 Anti-Personnel Mine Ban Convention (APMBC) Meeting Intersessional Meetings.

In addition to the Coordinators and representatives of the Implementation Support Unit (ISU), approximately 16 representatives – 10 from potential donor/partner States and six from States with needs under the CCM – participated in the meeting. Participants discussed current reported cooperation and assistance needs and capacities, key points raised in informal meetings held on 24 November and 20 December 2017, and progress and next steps in operationalising the “Country Coalitions” developed by the Presidency of the Seventh Meeting of States Parties (7MSP) which seeks to promote tailor-made partnerships and strategies to implement the CCM.

December 2017

Australia and Peru, the Coordinators on International Cooperation and Assistance, hosted an informal meeting on Wednesday 20 December 2017 in the margins of the 2017 Anti-Personnel Mine Ban Convention Meeting of States Parties.

Approximately 15 representatives from donor states and three representatives in their capacity as CCM Coordinators participated in the meeting. Donor states were encouraged to share with each other their experiences in providing cooperation and assistance under the CCM.

November  2017

The Coordinators on International Cooperation and Assistance (Australia and Peru) organized an informal meeting in the margins of the Meeting of High Contracting Parties to the Convention on Certain Conventional Weapons (CCW) on 24 November, convening those States Parties which have requested international cooperation and assistance for completion of one or more obligations under the CCM. The main purpose was to hear and receive information from those affected States on the key challenges that are facing respectively and what are the priority needs in terms of assistance in meeting those challenges.

June 2017

The Coordinators on International Cooperation and Assistance (Australia and Iraq) organized a second informal meeting (a follow up of the first one in February 2017) on Enhancing International Cooperation and Assistance under the CCM on 9 June in the margins of the Anti-Personnel Mine Ban Convention (APMBC) intersessional meetings with the participation of the CCM Presidency and representatives of 14 States of a combination of donor States and States with operational obligations under the Convention. The meeting focused on the “country coalition concept” and ways to operationalize the approach.


February 2017

Australia and Iraq, in their capacity as Coordinators on International Cooperation and Assistance, hosted a closed informal meeting on Enhancing International Cooperation and Assistance under the CCM in the margins of the 20th International Meeting of National Mine Action Programme Directors and United Nations Advisers (NDM-UN20) on Wednesday 8 February 2017.

The purpose of the meeting was to start a conversation on amongst other matters; what obstacles affected States face in implementing their obligations, how these could be addressed, the priorities of donor States regarding cooperation and assistance, and how to enhance communication between affected and donor States on these issues.
