Costa Rica condena el uso de municiones en racimo en Ucrania
Costa Rica, como Presidencia de la Quinta Reunión de los Estados Parte de la Convención para la Prohibición de Municiones en Racimo, expresa su firme condena sobre el uso de municiones de racimo en la ciudad de Donetsk, Ucrania, como ha sido confirmado el 20 de octubre del 2014 por Human Rights Watch, que informa de al menos seis personas muertas producto de este arma letal, así como de decenas de heridos.
Guinea ratifies the CCM
On 21st October, Guinea becanme the 87th State Party to the CCM. The instrument of ratification deposited at the UNSG in New York is available here.
Belize and Congo ratify the CCM
On 2 September 2014, Belize and Congo have ratified the CCM becoming the 85th and 86th states parties to the CCM.
Denmark completes stockpile destruction
On 20th March 2014, Denmark completed destruction of its stockpiled cluster munitions, several years ahead of the mandated timeline, becoming the 18th States Parties completing this obligation. As of today, there are 16 States Parties with obligations under Article 3 of the CCM.

Use of cluster muniitons in South Sudan condemned by the President of the 4MSP
14 February 2014,
It is with great alarm and disappointment that we have learnt of the use of Cluster Munitions in the continued unrest in South Sudan as reported by the United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS). As President of the Convention on Cluster Munitions, I wish to urge all parties in the dispute to exercise restraint and refrain from their use. Continue reading
