Presided by Sri Lanka, the Ninth Meeting of States Parties to the Convention on Cluster Munitions is the fourth formal meeting of the Convention after the adoption of the Dubrovnik Action Plan, a five-year (2015-2020) action plan that provides a roadmap for States Parties to implement and universalize the Convention.
H.E. Mr. Aliyar Lebbe Abdul Azeez, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of the of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka who presided over the 9MSP, handed over the Presidency of the Convention on Cluster Munitions to H.E. Mr. Félix Baumann, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Switzerland to the Conference on Disarmament as the President of the Second Review Conference (2RC).
The Meeting designated H.E. Mr. Aidan Liddle, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to the Conference on Disarmament as the President of the Tenth Meeting of States Parties (10MSP) scheduled for 2021.
